I enjoyed the use of the Sikorsky CH-54 (Flying Crane) and thank those avaitors for their assistance in the construction of our bridges.

At the left is a CH-54 going back to pick up addtional pontoons and "bulk"
On the larger bridge missions we had a Sikorsky CH-54 help.  This was especially important when the assembly site was a considerable distance from the river.

This photo depicts the picking up of the inflated pontoons and bulk.

In searching the web, I found no pictures of the CH-54 being used for this type of work.  Here's one for their books.
This  is a photo of the drop at the river.  Then the bridge erection boats & operators hooked up to the pontoons and put them in position
